Ariana Grande is bringing the nostalgia.
The Wickedstar, 32, brought back her famous ponytail at the 2026 Golden Globes, a look that has become closely associated with the versatile individual who’s beenshowcasing the ‘do for more than ten years.
Maybe her most notable accessory ever, the 2026 style was extremely streamlined with a side part on the left and a single strand of hair falling in front of her face. The ponytail was high, full, and curled at the back.

Grande’s hairstyle complemented her all-black outfit perfectly as she walked the red carpet at the awards event in Beverly Hills on Sunday, January 11. Her long Vivienne Westwood Couture dress had off-the-shoulder straps and a V-shaped back with a structured skirt that expanded from the waist to the floor.
She wore a delicate diamond necklace and diamond stud earrings. For her makeup, she opted for a soft pink lip and kept her eye makeup simple.
Grande, who has been nominated for her portrayal of Glinda inWicked: For Good, has been recognized for her ponytail for many years. The famous style first appeared in September 2012 when she wore her dark auburn hair in a low pony at Variety’s Power of Youth event at Paramount Studios.
The performer’s ponytail achieved new levels during the 2014 iHeartRadio Music Festival, two years later, as the star lifted her brown hair into a tie for a more streamlined version of her look. She wore cat ears while performing her popular songs on stage.

Grande’s ponytail changed over time, adopting different styles and lengths throughout the years. This look has been seen on red carpets such as the 2016 Grammy Awards, the 2016 American Music Awards, her 2019 Coachella performance, the 2024 Met Gala, and more.

“The horse has also experienced a transformation., and I’m proud of it,” Grande said in her 2018Fader cover story.
Old horse? I’m not sure if she’s the same one. But new horse? I like her. I mean, it’s like a Victoria’s Secret angel without the angel wings. It’s still her without them, but when she has them, it’s like,Ohh, I see, she’s an angel, the star continued.
That wasn’t the first time Grande has discussed her enduring relationship with her hair, whether it’s a high ponytail, a low ponytail at the back of her neck, or a half-up, half-down style.
“I feel as if there are a thousand different methods for creating a ponytail. A million!…It truly brings me a lot of happiness. Honestly, every time I tie my hair up, it’s like a delightful surprise,” she mentioned in an interview.Byrdie.Like, I forget how much I love it, and then I put it back in place and I’m like, ‘I love this style! Ooh, girl!’
She said, “Each time I secure it feels like the very first time. It’s as if it’s genuine love.”
