Erin Doherty Swears at 2026 Golden Globes — No Censorship

At the 2026 Golden Globes, the AdolescenceThe star received the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role on Television, and she acknowledged therapists with a special mention after CBS censored her while she was on stage accepting the honor.

The actress, who received the award for her role as child psychologist Briony Ariston in the popular Netflix series, began her speech by seemingly sharing that she “made a promise to my mom” not to use the word “f—.” Although part of her message was censored by the network, the swear word was still audible.

In the end, Doherty gave her mother a playful apology and expressed gratitude to her companions.Adolescence cast members and colleagues and expressed some appreciation for therapists.

“The second group I would absolutely love to dedicate this to is therapists,” Doherty said to the audience at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday, January 11.

She said, “I truly believe life can be challenging. Mental health is of utmost importance. So I appreciate therapists and it was a privilege to portray one. Thank you very much.”

Doherty is making her debut nomination in this category. She portrayed Briony Ariston in the popular Netflix success., which came after 13-year-old Jamie (Owen Cooper), who is charged with killing a girl at his school. This year also saw Wood, 31, receive their first nomination for portraying Chelsea in season 3 ofThe White Lotus, partner to Walton Goggins’ Rick. She marked the nomination with a modestpostOn Instagram, she posted a picture of her name on the list of nominees along with a “❤️” in the caption.

The third season of Mike WhiteThe popular show received six nominations at the Globes this year, including Best Television Series – Drama.

It was also Coon’s first time receiving a nomination. Coon portrayed Laurie, the peculiar member among her friends, Jacyln (Michelle Monaghan) and Kate (Leslie Bibb) in The White Lotus.The group was in Thailand for a girls’ getaway funded by Jaclyn, a well-known Hollywood actress, during season 3.

She told Gold Derbythat “the women were the cunning, hidden core” of the season, and added, “I think I truly grasped that Mike [White] had secretly placed this lovely little golden egg within a difficult season centered around death.”

O’Hara’s nomination marks her second. She was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for her portrayal of Moira inSchitt’s Creek in 2021, which she won.

Einbinder was nominated for the fourth time for her performance as Ava inHacks. Her costar, Jean Smart, was also nominated, and the series is in the running for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy.

The actress, 57, portrayed the entitled North Carolina homemaker Victoria Ratliff on the series, mother toPatrick Schwarzenegger, Sam Nivola and Sarah Catherine Hook, and wife of the equally mischievousJason Isaacs.

She received the Legend Tribute at the 2025 Gotham TV Awards.in June for the position, and expressed gratitude to the show’s creator in her speech for “writing this character specifically for me, for having faith in a middle-aged woman, and for believing in a legend.”
