First Celebrity Eliminated from Dancing with the Stars

Comedian Michael Fry mentioned he joined “Dancing With The Stars” feeling nervous, as he was the first celebrity to be removed from RTE One after not receiving the highest number of public votes.

The comedian and his professional dance partner Kylee Vincent were the first pair voted off the show this evening.

Shortly following his elimination, Michael remarked: ‘I had an amazing experience, and I was genuinely frightened, but I wanted to take the chance, and I did it, despite my fear.’

He commended his professional dance partner, Kylee Vincent, as the finest instructor.

Collaborating with Kylee has been incredible; I’ve truly had the best time. It’s been a very fulfilling professional connection and a wonderful friendship. So, thank you very much.

Michael and Kylee did not manage to captivate the audience with their Samba performance of “Sapphire” by Ed Sheeran.

However, the judges were not particularly impressed by Michaels’ moves during the earlier part of the show.

Judge Oti Mabuse remarked, “Excellent! Your timing was spot on. Wham, bam!”

Brian Redmond stated, “You began swatting flies with a tea towel. It technically came apart.”

Arthur Gourounlian remarked: “You let your movements be natural and at ease.”

But Karen Byrne remarked: “Samba is more challenging for a man. You were missing spontaneity.”

The duo accumulated a combined total of 23 points.

Katelyn Cummins and Leonardo Lini kicked off the performance by dancing the jive to APT by Rose and Bruno Mars, with Oti commending her ‘energetic’ move.

What an excellent way to start the performance! Lively and exciting!

Brian Redmondadmitted: “If you continue in this manner, we are eager to witness your future actions!”

And Arthur remarked, “You made it fun tonight and I loved it!”

Karen stated she “loved it” when the judges awarded her 28 points.

Oti remarked: “You had a beautiful flow. I loved it!” while Brian stated: “Your ballroom was strong.”

Arthur remarked, “Your upper body tends to sag slightly, but you’re a gem waiting to be polished!”

Karen said, “You’re a well-rounded individual. She gives them seven points.”

The duo accumulated a combined total of 25 points.

Anne Cassin and Robert Rowiński danced the Paso Doble to “The 5th” by David Garret.

Earning a total of 18 points, Oti remarked, “Unfortunately the dance didn’t align with the music. I was hoping to see more from you.”

Brian said, “It was definitely full of flair but weak in the base. Concentrate more on the basics of the physique.”

Stephanie Kelly skipped a few moves while performing the Cha Cha Cha with Ervinas Merfeldas to Britney Spears’ “I’m a Slave 4 U.”

The mistake cost them the position, as the judges awarded 19 points.

Virgin Media’s Eric Roberts and his professional dance partner Arianna Favaro performed a challenging Foxtrot to “Daisies” by Justin Bieber.

Oti stated, “Take it all back and return to focusing on the fundamentals,” whileArthuradmitted he wasn’t “feeling” the dance.

Brian mentioned that he believed Eric had invested a significant amount of time into the footwork, stating that he thought it was “better than” what Oti and Arthur had done.

And Karen mentioned that she “truly loved” his performance. The judges gave them 22 points.

However, Brian seemed to have difficulty with the footwork and appeared relieved when his dance ended. He received 13 points, and some of the judges were left at a loss for words.

Oti confessed, “It was somewhat too informal for me,” while Brian remarked, “I feel more melancholic than energetic. More down-to-earth than polished.”

Karen said: “Latino Brian is present, but it could have been improved.”

Amber Wilson and Alex Vladimirov captivated the judges with their Tango performance to “Call Me” by Blondie.

Following the news that her nerves overpowered her last week, Amber was hailed as ‘the comeback queen.’

Oti scored 24 points and remarked, “There was strength, there was vitality,” while Brian commented, “It was significantly better than last week!”

Arthur said, “You performed well tonight, and this dance was very fitting for you.”

Singer Tolü Makay and Maciej Zięba performed an “calm, smooth, and entirely controlled” American Smooth toMan I Need by Olivia Dean.

Brian described it as “understated, powerful, and elegant,” while Arthur remarked, “You were like a swan moving smoothly across the water. You completely dominated it. Wow!”

Karen said, “You’re a showgirl. You made it seem effortless. It was my dance of the evening.”

The pair earned a significant 32 points, placing them at the top of the rankings.

“Paudfather” Paudie Moloney and Laura Nolan earned 23 points for their Waltz performance of “The Godfather Waltz” composed by Carlo Savina and Nino Rota.

Arthur exclaimed, “Wow! What a dance, it was graceful and stunning to see,” while Karen remarked, “Paudie, you resemble a young snooker player but you have good posture.”

Philip Doyle and Daniela Roze stunned the judges with their Salsa performance of “We Are One” by Pitbull.

Oti exclaimed, “Wow! Philip, where did that come from? Hot, hot, hot!” while Brian teased, “Philip, one request, I need you to close your feet and second, please close your shirt. Great dance.”

They scored 31 points.

Closing the performance, Eurovision icon Niamh Kavanagh and Stephen Vincent earned 28 points for their Quickstep to “Billy-A-Dick” by Bette Midler.

Karen remarked, “You’re radiating elegance tonight. That was stunning!” while Oti added it fit them perfectly.

Arthur said, “It made me happy because I experienced the joy right from the very first step. Well done.”

Next week, the 11 remaining pairs will perform dances themed around films on the program.

RTE One airs Dancing With The Stars every Sunday at 6:30pm.
