How Rob Reiner Was Honored at the 2026 Golden Globes

Rob Reiner received a heartfelt tribute at Sunday’s Golden Globes 2026, just under a month after he and his wife Michele Reiner passed away.

Host Nikki Glaser sported a “Spinal Tap” baseball cap while wrapping up the awards ceremony, alluding to two lines from the film directed by Reiner in her final remarks.

That’s our performance. This one reached 11,” the 41-year-old comedian remarked. “Thank you all for an incredible evening, and I hope we managed to find the boundary between witty and foolish.

Glaser, notably, told USA Todayon Thursday, she stated that she would pay tribute to the late director “in [her] own way” because the show does not feature an in memoriam segment.

Reiner, who received nine Golden Globe nominations throughout his career, passed away on December 14, 2025, while he and his partner were at their residence in Brentwood, California.

The couple’s youngest son, Nick Reiner, was later charged with their killings.

Their other surviving children— son Jake, 34, and daughter Romy, 28 —released a heartbreaking statementlast month regarding their “horrific and devastating” loss.

Words are insufficient to express the unbearable sorrow we feel constantly throughout the day,” the siblings stated. “They weren’t just our parents; they were our closest companions.

They added, “We appreciate the flood of sympathy, kindness, and assistance we’ve received. … We now request for respect and privacy, for assumptions to be balanced with empathy and humanity, and for our parents to be honored for the remarkable lives they led and the love they shared.”

The duo have stand together as one, hunkering downtogether at their family’s beach house in California, as seen in photos acquired by Page Six.

Nick, meanwhile, has made two court appearances, most recently on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old has not yet entered a plea, and his first attorney, Alan Jackson,quit representing Nick in an eleventh-hour twist.

Nick, notably, attended the Christmas party of Conan O’Brienwith his parents the night before their bodies were found — and reportedlydrew attention for quarreling with his relatives disputing with his family members having a disagreement with his family arguing against his family members clashing with his family members debating with his family members having a conflict with his relatives experiencing a dispute with his family arguing with his kin having a row with his family members.

A-listers’ tributesFor Rob and Michele, an outpouring has been happening since their passing, and many of the stars who worked with the Emmy winner became emotional in CBS’ “Rob Reiner: Scenes From a Life” special.

Jerry O’Connell broke downtalking about how kind Rob was to him while filming “Stand By Me” in 1986.

He took me out to lunch, dude… months after the film was released,” the actor remembered. “He didn’t have to do that, you know what I mean?… He was a very busy person. And he spent time with a 12-year-old me for lunch just to say, ‘Thank you so much, what a great movie.’

Rob received one of his four Golden Globe nominations in the Best Director category for his direction on the film, with his other nominations including “When Harry Met Sally,” “A Few Good Men,” and “The American President.”

His other five nominations were for portraying Michael Stivic in “All in the Family.”
