Maura Higgins Sparks Explosive Clash with ‘Insufferable’ Celebrity

Maura Higgins from Love Island has clashed with the controversial actor Michael Rapaport on the American edition of The Traitors, which has thrilled her supporters.
The reality TV staris one of the celebrity participants on the American version of The Traitors, facing off against well-known personalities like Mark Ballas (from Dancing with the Stars), Donna Kelce (mother of Travis Kelce), and Lisa Rinna from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. With just three episodes broadcasted so far, the discussions have already been intense, especially between Maura and the vocal actor Michael Rappaport.
A 55-year-old actor is most recognized for portraying Phoebe’s boyfriend Gary on Friends, as well as his roles in My Name is Earl, Justified, and Atypical. Michael often appears in the news.because of his political beliefsas a supporter of Israel and a strong critic of the New York mayor Zohran Mamdani, whom he referred to as “a s–t stain” after winning the mayoral election.

In a fiery episode of The Traitors US, Maura confronted Michael for using the phrase “we got rid of” when talking about eliminated players, claiming he was acting like a Traitor. “Why did you say, ‘we got rid of’? Does that mean you’re a Traitor?” she asked.
In his defense, Michael replied, “Let me share something with you, Maura. I’m as loyal as a loyal—” She interrupted him, saying, “Why did you say ‘we’? We didn’t— the Traitors did,” reportsthe Mirror.
Later in the episode, Kristen Kish, a star from Top Chef, criticized Michael’s wording, noting, “You actually said ‘we.'”
His response was indifferent, “And I’ve said many things.” Maura then softly said, “Perhaps simply cease speaking.”
Social media was flooded with support for Maura’s courageous stance, as one fan wrote on X, “Maura not being afraid and confronting Michael is definitely my favorite aspect of the new season of #TheTraitorsUS.”
A different viewer stated, “It was at this point that Maura Higgins voiced what all of us felt #TheTraitorsUS.”
A third person added, “Producers likely thought Michael Rapaport would be good for TV because he’s so easy to provoke, but he’s actually ruining this season because he’s truly unbearable. Get him off my screen #TheTraitorsUS.”
Earlier in the week, Maura outlined her plan for The Traitors US, saying, “Well, I’m beginning by wearing a cape. So… I’m hoping I’m a Traitor and I hope to eliminate everyone one by one.”
