PETA has released a harsh public letter to Robert Irwin before his upcoming role co-hosting the new season ofChannel Ten’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of This Place!
A U.S. animal rights group has issued a public appeal to the 22-year-old celebrity environmental advocate, urging them to address reported instances of animal mistreatment during the production of the show.
The letter starts by saying, ‘We are writing today to appeal to your commitment to wildlife protection and to request that, as a gesture of respect for all creatures, you ask the producers of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! to stop using animals.’
For ten years, the program has utilized and mistreated hundreds of rats, insects, arachnids, and reptiles, which are thrown around, handled, and crawled over during touch tank activities, and consumed in tucker trials.
They asserted that the show frequently ‘used’ small animals and asked Robert to leverage his fame to stop such incidents from happening again.
Small creatures may not resemble the ones many Australians have as pets, yet they are significant. The program uses crocodiles, depicting them as dangerous predators that target humans.

But you are more aware than most that they are truly intricate, feeling people who prioritize safeguarding their families and land.
It also portrays spiders as intimidating enemies, even though we know they are peaceful creatures.
Mammals are not protected from the show’s mistreatment. In 2016, a white lion and a leopard cub were involved, leading to significant backlash since cubs used in this manner cannot be released back into the wild and are often sold to be killed by canned hunters.
Robert took over from celebrity veterinarian Dr. Chris Brown in 2024.As a co-host of the well-known series, he was not part of the production in 2016.
They concluded by stating that Robert had the ability to address this issue and encouraged him to take steps.
“If a celebrity, well-known for their efforts in safeguarding dogs, were to host a program where dogs were tossed around or consumed, audiences would likely doubt the host’s commitment to their mission,” they wrote.
As an individual recognized for advocating for wildlife, you hold significant influence—and obligation—to assist animals by guiding I’m a Celebrity… towards a more compassionate approach.
The Daily Mail has contacted Channel Ten for a response.

It comes after reports that Robert is highly sought after as his television career keeps rising rapidly.
A recent study has shown the astonishing amount that networks will need to pay if they wish to have the Wildlife Warrior host their programs.
The 22-year-old’s salary could reach up to $3 million per season, according toNew Idea.
“That’s truly the area he’s operating in now,” an alleged insider said to the publication.
The source states that American television is making an approach, with many eager to sign contracts with the attractive actor following his successful performance onDancing with the Stars US last year.
“Many American programs reaching out to him are near that number,” the insider stated.
