In the A24 film, Chalamet portrays a table tennis hustler aiming for excellence. The film’s table tennis advisor, Diego Schaaf, told The Hollywood ReporterLast month, there was discussion about the extensive preparation the actor went through. “Timothée, being a dancer, grasped right away how he needed to move. However, we had to adapt that to fit within the pace of the performance,” Schaaf mentioned. “He wasn’t looking to do the bare minimum. Even after getting it correct, he would say, ‘Let’s try it again.'”

Schaaf mentioned that he hopes Chalamet’s intense media campaign before the film “brings the sport the recognition it deserves.”
